About this project

Comfortica collects data for European innovation project Reincarnate

Comfortica is contributing to the EU Reincarnate project, which is developing innovative solutions to extend the lifespan of buildings, construction products and materials. In doing so, we are helping to create a more sustainable construction sector and support the transition to a circular economy.

For this project, we installed an extensive sensor network at the building of #L Architekten in Menden, Germany. The data collected is transmitted via a Moxa Modbus Gateway to the Mainflux online cloud platform, where researchers and project partners can monitor and analyse the building’s performance.

Using a range of sensors, we measure:

• Wind direction and speed
• Surface temperature of façade elements
• Vibrations in the structure
• Indoor and outdoor humidity
• Air pressure
• Solar radiation
• UV radiation (A and B)
• CO₂ concentration
• Concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
• Mechanical strain and deformation of structural elements

With smart sensor technology, we gain greater insight into buildings, helping to make them more sustainable and future-proof.

Making buildings smarter and more sustainable? Comfortica makes it happen!
