What a year Comfortica has had! With the most diverse projects: from an incredible luxury showcase garage for a McLaren and a villa in Marbella to smart animal clinic cages for a veterinary clinic. We even improved the care at a hospice. What a privilege it is not only to install great home automation solutions but also to provide automation that brings relief to both people and animals. In our year end review, we look back on the most exciting projects of the past year and offer a preview of upcoming smart home developments in 2025.
Top Home Automation Projects
In 2024, Comfortica once again went international! For a Dutch client, we had the opportunity to equip both his home in the Netherlands as well as his villa in Marbella with the ultimate smart home experience. Another absolute highlight was the villa with a luxury garage designed to showcase the owner’s stunning McLaren. Curious? Check out everything we did for this dream villa!
Smart Home Care Solutions That Truly Make a Difference
One of the best aspects of our job is the sheer variety of projects we get to work on. It is truly a privilege to provide smart home care solutions that make a real difference. This year, we worked on two very special smart home care projects: a veterinary clinic and a hospice. At the veterinary clinic, we automated lighting, climate control, and security for 50 animal clinic cages, ensuring optimal recovery conditions for the animals.
At the hospice, we installed a private network, smart lighting, and a nurse call system. Thanks to the private network, clients can make a video call without hiccups, and caregivers can be reached at all times. The nurse call system allows users to activate the phone, lights, and siren alarm with just the press of a button.
More Freedom with the New FIBARO-Nice App
In 2024, FIBARO-Nice launched a new app, which has been well received, as it gives users greater freedom to customize their smart home setup exactly the way they want.
A small setback in the world of smart home technology: the adoption of the Matter smart home standard is progressing more slowly than anticipated. Matter is an open-source interoperability standard and as such expected to ensure seamless compatibility between different smart home devices, regardless of brand. We can’t wait for this to become the norm!
Smart Home Developments in 2025
We anticipate that the implementation of Matter as a standard will accelerate in the coming year. Additionally, we expect AI to give a huge boost to security cameras detecting suspicious activity. Imagine receiving alerts like: ‘A delivery driver is on your driveway without a package’ or ‘Two men have been spotted near your home wearing the following clothing…’
Lastly, we are excited about the continued expansion of the Z-Wave S800 protocol (found in devices like your Homey and FIBARO-Nice). This is fantastic news, as its high bandwidth allows for covering greater distances, sending more commands, all while being way more energy efficient.
We wish you a 2025 filled with endless possibilities!
