Comfortica VEB-certified security company
Comfortica has been providing smart home automation and reliable security solutions for years. Since the spring of 2025, we’ve been officially a VEB-certified security company. But what exactly does that mean? Why did we obtain this certification? And what are the pros and cons of such a certified security system? You can read all about it in this blog post.
Why VEB-certified?
We’ve been receiving increasing inquiries from both private and business clients about whether we offer certified security systems. This is usually a requirement from their insurers. Due to this growing demand, we decided to apply for the VEB quality mark. However, the VEB certificate is much more than a formality: to obtain it, a company must meet strict quality standards.
Demands for a VEB-certified security company
What exactly does such a certificate entail? To be VEB-certified, a company and its employees must be demonstrably reliable and possess the appropriate level of knowledge and professionalism. Therefore, everyone at Comfortica was personally screened, and our internal processes were thoroughly reviewed.
After all employees received a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), we completed various courses and passed exams. And it doesn’t stop there: like all VEB-certified security companies, we undergo an annual audit to confirm that we continue to meet the high standards of the quality mark.
What does the VEB certificate mean for you?
As a customer, you can be sure that with Comfortica you will not only receive a suitable security system, but also benefit from:
- Officially recognized security company
- Certified quality and reliability
- Experienced and qualified staff
- Professional and up-to-date security solutions
- Transparency and integrity
- Bonus: Useful (and sometimes mandatory) for your insurance
Because Comfortica is now VEB-certified, we can offer a broader portfolio of security systems to both private and business customers.
Are there any downsides to a VEB certificate?
A VEB-certified system offers a high level of security, but it also has limitations. For example, you have less freedom to combine security with integrated home automation, and you’re not always allowed to activate or deactivate the system via the home automation system. This means you always have a separate control system for both security and home automation.
In addition, you may sometimes have to deal with additional clauses from the insurer. These clauses may require you to always activate the alarm system when no one is home, for example.
Therefore, always discuss with your insurance advisor whether a certified system is necessary.
Best security tip
Looking for the peace of mind a VEB-certified security system brings you, or is this required by your insurer? Then Comfortica can help you with all your security and home automation needs.
And regardless of which system you choose, always make your home or business premises appear occupied. That’s still the best deterrent.
